Introduced in 1911. A traditional flavoured general purpose potato. The most widely grown potato in the UK for most of the 20th Century. It is still a gardener's favourite, it is robust, drought resistant and can thrive in any soil. Cooks moderately firm. Mild flavour and variable texture, suitable for a wide range of uses. Tubers are white, oval in shape.
Blight and scab resistance is moderate.
