Under the new government guidelines, garden centres in England are allowed to open to the public as of Wednesday 13th May 2020 as long as precautions are made with regard to social distancing.
Here at Lealans Garden Centre we will be implementing new measures to ensure the safety of both our customers and our staff.
We ask all of our customers to please be aware of these measures and to make allowances for the changes when shopping with us.
Customer numbers within the garden centre will be limited and to allow for this there will be spaced queuing area outside on the carpark, customers will then be advised by a member of staff when they are allowed to enter the store.
For the foreseeable future our entrance will be located at the back of the shop where you will be able to collect a trolley or basket.
To assist with the limiting of customer numbers we will be allowing no more than 2 members of each household into the store at any one time, we would prefer that you came alone. No under 16s will be allowed into the store. Groups of people will not be allowed to congregate.
We will also not allow customers to bring in dogs (except for assistance dogs) for the foreseeable future, Dogs should not be left in cars either so please leave them at home.
It is important that customers have an idea of the products that they wish to buy before arriving, prolonged browsing within the store will hold up the flow of customers. Although we’re always happy to give advice, staff will not be helping personal shop at the moment – we will continue to load compost etc into cars but with strict distancing rules in place.
The store will have navigation markers and signs to aid customers in finding their way around the garden centre and to aid with social distancing.
The till area will have spaced queuing, you will be asked to place ALL your goods onto the counter and then step away while staff process them, you will then be invited to step forward and pay while our staff member steps back.
We ask that customers pay by card and our contactless limit has been increased to £45.
Please be responsible and respectful to both staff and other customers, these are difficult times that can be frustrating but we are all in this together and only by working together can we reopen with safe and relatively stress free conditions.
We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave without purchasing if they don’t abide by our rules.
Many thanks for your patience and understanding.
Monday – Saturday 9.30am – 4.30pm, Sunday 10.30am – 4.00pm

Welcome to Lealans Garden Centre
We pride ourselves on providing a vast range of indoor and outdoor plants. We probably have the largest selection of houseplants available in the West Midlands. Our outdoor area contains many different species of plants and is filled with colour all year round.
We sell and redeem the National Garden Gift Vouchers. Ideal to give to a gardener for Christmas, Birthdays or any special occasion. Available in several different denominations, there is not time limit for them to be spent. Ready made gift bowls and baskets can be gift wrapped free of charge whilst hanging baskets can also be refilled – just bring your empty basket in or order a new one from us.
Customers have been returning for years to Lealans and appreciate the help and advice our friendly staff can offer the keen or amateur gardener. We have a large free car park with disabled access and a wheelchair if required. We will also put large or heavy items into your vehicles or can arrange a delivery to local areas for a reasonable charge.
Why not come and pay us a visit and enjoy a relaxing walk round our greenhouses and outdoor areas and see the many different plants we have to offer, and don’t forget we also sell the many other items you need for your garden – furniture, stoneware, pots, composts to name but a few.
